Give a promise to someone that you will start waking up early. Works best with your family members, friends, etc. Once given, promise should be kept, or you lose respect with those people.

This tip works great not only for waking up, for pretty much for any activity that you keep procrastinating on - quitting smoking, exercising, learning and so on. Use it! Show everyone you can stand behind your words!

Great advice, I'm starting from the ground up on your tips. It all starts with you dedicating yourself to accomplishing a goal. You said it well when you said that we should tell others that we are going to do something. It sort of makes you obligated because if you can let yourself down, you don't want to let others down.

@ comment above, that is a great way to think of it. However, just because I tell someone that I am going to do something, I don't always commit to it. I think it takes more internal control that external.

I personally think any promise you should keep, however i agree when you say it creates like a goal that is said and is harder to break..Yeah letting yourself down is one thing but to let other people down makes you look silly.
